Hamish was always reliable, trustworthy and professional. But, what made him stand out as a physical trainer was his ability to push my body to it’s limits without going beyond them. He had goals for me, but was flexible in his plan for my reaching those goals.
My work on King Kong was quite physically demanding at times. Hamish was remarkably in tune with how those demands affected my both from day to day. He took initiative and came up with new ways to keep me fit and strong without making me feel weak and sore at the same time. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Hamish on more films in future.

I have known Hamish Abbie since I contracted him to be my personal trainer. I had been having postural problems which had been affecting my golf swing and consequentially my tournament play. During our six months of training together my posture and general bodily health… improved to such an extent that I am striking the ball better than ever and more importantly feeling much better about my general physical condition.
Furthermore, I have had the confidence in Hamish to send my own pupils to him to have their own postural difficulties corrected, again with excellent results. I have no hesitation in recommending Hamish Abbie as a physical trainer in particular to fellow athletes who wish to get the best out of their sport.
Needing to lose what seemed like an impossible amount of weight I partnered up with Hamish to help me achieve this goal. Two years on and 40+ kgs lighter, I owe it all to Hamish. Hamish helped me get through many physical and emotional barriers which I thought would be impossible to surpass. He always communicated any changes that took place within my programme, helping me understand why I was doing a particular exercise and adjusting it to suit my physical needs. It made me feel like it wasn't just me working towards this goal rather, we were working together as a team.
Hamish always seemed to be "in the know" keeping up to date in the latest training techniques and equipment, actively maintaining and building his knowledge to gain better results. We were never in a rut during my weight loss as he could always sense when it was time to adjust or change to something new. This kept it interesting for me as I know I wouldn't be repeating the same old exercise. Hamish is a first class trainer, the results speak for themselves.

As a complete novice to the “gym experience” Hamish has taken the time to explain the reason behind each exercise and has set a varied and challenging programme.
The benefits for me have been a considerable gain in my health status, plus being able to fit clothes long forgotten! All this, plus I have actually enjoying the experience. I am certain that if I had not had the benefit of Hamish’s knowledge and motivation I would not have continued with the gym.
I have been under Hamish's careful eye for the last 6 months. During that time, the results he has helped bring are nothing short of fantastic. I have dropped 3 suits sizes, lost 10 kilos, halved my body fat percentage, improved my fitness out of sight (5km reduced from 29 minutes to 21 minutes) and I am regularly getting comments from my friends and work colleagues about how good I am now looking.

I discovered shortly after beginning my sessions with Hamish that I was expecting a baby. I informed Hamish and expected to have to give up. From that first session Hamish altered my programme to fit with the stage of my pregnancy. He provided me with articles and readings to keep me informed on what was happening and what to expect.
At every stage Hamish was one step ahead and able to anticipate and prepare for what was coming down the line. He always had the developing baby at the centre of the decisions he made. Over and above the programme Hamish developed for me and the sessions we did together he also recommended I include a walking workout and swimming to improve my stamina and fitness. He also recommended diet changes and foods to include/cut out.
The service and level of attention I received from Hamish far exceeded our contract. He provided me with a 360 programme that looked at everything from diet to exercise. His assistance went far beyond the sessions themselves. As it was my first pregnancy I felt reassured and informed. It enabled me to train within my limits and with confidence.
I have not gained excess weight nor have I experienced back pain, rib flare, cramps or any of the common complaints associated with being pregnant. I attribute my good fortune with this pregnancy directly to the programmes and advice Hamish has provided me with over the past nine months. I would recommend Hamish to anyone and particularly to any expectant mother.
