5 Hot Tips for Beating your Winter Woes
This cold weather could tempt the most devoted exerciser to hang up their sneakers, however staying fit over these frosty winter weeks could save you a lot of time and effort come summer.
If you’re having trouble staying active this winter, here are 5 Top Tips to help keep you motivated:
- Stay Focused. Forget the frost. Focus on the benefits of exercising such as keeping those undesirable winter layers off, increasing energy levels, reducing stress, depression and anxiety, keeping you warm and getting a head start on the swimsuit season.
- Don’t break your routine. If you are determined to achieve your fitness goals then make training habitual. It’s easy to fall victim to the comforts of home, but not as easy as it is to stay in shape by maintaining your exercise regime all year round. There’s nothing worse than starting over every summer.
- Plan Your Day. Every evening take a couple of minutes to plan your next days schedule and make sure you find time to fit your work-out in. Next, promise yourself that you won’t find something “more important” to do. What’s more important than your health?
- Memo to me. Constantly remind yourself how hard you have worked to get to where you are and where you are going. This may mean having an old photo of yourself sitting on your desk or purchasing an item of clothing you want to fit into this summer. What ever it takes don’t let yourself forget why you are here.
- Get a PT. If you don’t have a programme that is right for you, then you are setting yourself up for failure. Your personal trainer will not only design a programme that suits your training needs, they will provide fresh, effective and interesting workouts that will keep in you in shape and keep the winter blues away.
