Keep the Weight Off this Christmas

Simple Tips to Keep you Active During the Festive Season

Christmas is one of the biggest events of the year for many families, giving people the opportunity to escape work and to relax with friends and family. With an abundance of food and opportunities to drink, gaining weight seems inevitable, but the decision is still yours to make. Remember the following tips these holidays and may be you will suprise yourself this christmas:

1) Set Goals for the Festive Season

When else do you get this much time to focus on you? Make your health and fitness a priority by setting some goals for this festive season. They may be food, weight and/or activity based, the key is having something to focus on other than the christmas ham.

2) Make Exercise Fun

This is a good time to really enjoy a good workout without the pressures of your normal working day plagueing you. Take your training outdoors; go for a run on a local bush track, do sprints on the beach, or pushups and crunches at the nearby school. Get the whole family on board and set a minimum standard for everyone, then keep each other accountable.

3) Eat Smart

You can still have a great Christmas and not over eat. Portion Control is the key to eating smart, and creating meals that contain veggies, lean meats and whole grain. Watching your alcohol intake is also another simple way to reduce calories in.
