Discipline and Perseverance - Your Pillars of Success


One of the best things about my job is seeing people achieve amazing results. Whether they drop a few clothing sizes, quit smoking, get off the medication they’ve been on for years or complete their first major event, every story is unique. But there are two key characteristics that the successful people at the centre of them share. These are discipline and perseverance.

Let's consider a major achievement in your life. Were you disciplined in attaining it? Were you patient in your road to success? If you focus on a goal and are disciplined in following the plan to reach it, you are setting yourself up for success. It's easy to get bogged down by little set backs, unless you are disciplined in your approach to achieving them.

We all know things don’t always go to plan, but no one said things would be easy? Without perseverance, it’s the little speed bumps that can slow down your momentum, sometimes even stopping it all together.

There really isn't an easy way to describe the euphoria that settles in once you've realised a fitness goal. You will have experienced this feeling at some stage in your life and with these two pillars propping you up, you will experience it again. No matter what your aspirations, stay true to your plan and remain focused on your long term goal. With discipline and perseverance, you may lose a few battles, but you will always win the war.
